LEGACY TRAIL (SHARED TRAIL)

The Shared Legacy Trail is an immersion in the the greater Masungi Geopark Project where the Comprehensive Forest Restoration efforts are currently ongoing. Visitors and volunteers will be able to directly participate in bringing life back to the abused land and care for the area. Firsthand experiences in branch pruning, weeding, mulching, compost circle building, and tree planting/nurturing (depending on the season and planting site availability) are to be anticipated. Well-deserved Minalot meals will be served afterwards. Visitors and volunteers will also be able to interact and rest among the last few remaining pine tree stands in the project area. The experience lasts for four to six (4-6) hours. A park ranger will be guiding visitors and volunteers through the area and the activities.

Sign up Process

Trail visits must be arranged at least three (3) days ahead of the intended date of visit. Should you wish to visit the Georeserve on a weekend, it is highly recommended that these be arranged at least a week in advance.

Please see below instructions on securing a date and time of visit upon approval:

  1. Kindly fill in all the details in the registration form:
    - In the remarks section, kindly inform us of any other special concerns such as food allergies/dietary restrictions. If none, kindly place "N/A" to proceed with the request.
  2. Full deposit of conservation fee is required to secure the date.
  3. Requests are kept for the guests twenty-four (24) hours from the approval. Conservation fees must be settled during this time via the bank deposit/online banking options.
  4. Kindly note that by settling the conservation fees you and your party agree  to our terms and conditions. Read carefully and review the terms and conditions attached here
  5. Conservation fees may be settled through credit card (through the Paypal Platform) or by bank deposit/online banking. Kindly be advised that there is an additional 4.4% + PHP 15.00 charge for payments done through the Paypal platform. Registration with Paypal is not needed to do this. Details on how to settle your conservation fees shall be provided upon approval of your visit request.

Good to Know

1. Conservation fees for the full trail visit are as follows: PHP 2,000.00 per guest. Conservation fees are subject to change without prior notice.

2. Shared Legacy Trail schedule is at 8:00 am.

3. Guests 1 years of age and above are allowed in the georeserve’s Legacy Trail for safety purposes. However, on a case-to-case basis, we may accommodate children below these minimum ages, subject to certain conditions (please email request to programs@masungigeoreserve.com).

4.  Georeserve policies (i.e. no-smoking, no littering, noise is prohibited) apply. Policies apply to the entire area, including the provided parking space and the road/roadside fronting the fence and gate.

5. As we strive to involve the upland communities as local rangers, please note that we cannot guarantee an English-speaking guide at this point. Furthermore, in an effort to renew interest in the Filipino language,  we encourage the use of the language for groups primarily composed of Filipinos.

6. It would be wise to be familiar with the directions ahead of time, as mobile reception can be erratic or non-existent in the area. Detailed directions and recommended routes will be provided upon confirmation of your trail visit.

7. Kindly note that by settling the conservation fees you and your party agree to our terms and conditions. Read carefully and review the terms and conditions attached here. 

8. Please note that for the convenience of all guests, late-comers shall not be allowed to join the group. In reference to the terms and conditions, transportation would not be provided by Masungi Georeserve.
