Pinugay, Baras, Rizal – Best Tank Corporation through a partnership with Waves for Water and Masungi Georeserve Foundation donated 60 units of water filtration systems to households of Masungi’s communities in Pinugay, Baras and Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal.
The turnover event on February 24, 2018 was held in Pinugay Elementary School and was attended by over 100 volunteers and 50 beneficiaries. Volunteers from Best Tank Corporation demonstrated to each beneficiary how to effectively clean their water filters so the equipment could last up to ten years and be sustainable.
The event was also attended by members of the 80th Infantry Battalion as a partner in the georeserve’s community efforts.
The donation of water filters aims to give the communities access to clean and safe water, especially for young children and the elderly. Previously, communities would get water directly from water pumps and deep wells which could have been contaminated by various microorganisms from the environment.
The event is part of Masungi Georeserve’s sanitation and health programs in line with sustainable tourism. This includes medical missions and sanitation improvements, as well as tie-ups with organisations that have aligned social impact goals.
