Union Bank participates in Masungi’s Nurture-A-Grove Project

Last November 9, over 30 employees of the Union Bank of the Philippines Manila and Metro West Regions’ Retail Banking Group contributed to the reforestation activities being carried out on the greater Masungi Geopark Project site. Through the Legacy Trail experience, the participants were immersed in a tree-planting activity and contributed a grove of saplings to the area’s growing forest life. Minalot meals prepared by local community members were served afterwards as a reward to the volunteers for aiding in the restoration and reforestation of the once barren area. Bacardi, Waves for Water, Masungi Georeserve & 80th IB partners for Rizal community

Bacardi Philippines has partnered with Waves for Water and Masungi Georeserve Foundation to donate 42 units of sustainable water filtration system to the Sitio Tablon community in Barangay Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal on June 20, 2018. The volunteers assembled and demonstrated the use of water filters, as well as the proper cleaning process. This step will help the water filter units last in the long run. Illegal Treasure-Hunting Unmasked at Masungi Geopark Project Site

Mt. Susong Dalaga, Baras, Rizal – Park rangers discover a fresh, well-hidden treasure pit in the vicinity of Mt. Susong Dalaga within the Masungi Geopark Project site as well as the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape (UMRBLP). Multiple layers of bamboo poles, tarpaulin and earth concealed the pit which can hold several people. The pit is about three meters deep and five meters wide. Pinugay, Baras, Rizal – Best Tank Corporation through a partnership with Waves for Water and Masungi Georeserve Foundation donated 60 units of water filtration systems to households of Masungi’s communities in Pinugay, Baras and Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal. The turnover event on February 24, 2018 was held in Pinugay Elementary School and was attended by over 100 volunteers and 50 beneficiaries.
