The Foundation constructed and donated an internationally accredited water filtration system for about 115 schoolchildren of San Roque Elementary School in partnership with Waves for Water and Spartan Philippines.
The water filtration system seeks to ensure that water available at the school will be free of coliform and harmful, disease-causing bacteria. Previously, the water available at the school showed presence of coliform in multiple testing instances.
A new tank was also installed in order to provide ample storage for water filtration and consumption.
School officials, Vice-Mayor Willie Robles, Waves for Water and the Masungi Georeserve team were present at the project’s turn over ceremony last September 7, 2017.
Aside from the filtration system, the project also includes the rehabilitation of four children’s comfort rooms and donation of water containers from Spartan Philippines.
Following the Masungi Georeserve Medical Mission in early 2017, this is one of the foundation’s key efforts towards uplifting surrounding communities. The georeserve seeks to help communities not only through livelihood opportunities but through holistic social transformation programs, which include basic health, hygiene and sanitation for all.
