Students raise school supplies shared by the National Bookstore Foundation & Masungi Georeserve Foundation

August 22, 2019 — National Bookstore Foundation, Inc. (NBSFI) and Masungi Georeserve Foundation Inc. (MGFI) collaborated to distribute school materials to partner elementary schools around the georeserve. Some 4,000 students received two school kits each through ‘Project Aral’, a back-to-school initiative that aims to solicit learning supplies for students living in remote areas of the country.

Among the partner schools involved were San Roque Elementary School, Upper Kilingan Elementary School, and Pinugay Elementary School in Baras, Rizal. Teachers and students welcomed the support from the program, noting the supplies will help augment the educational needs and expenses of families.

Education, research, and support for local schools, together with the local government of Baras and the 2nd Infantry Division of the Army,  are major components of Masungi’s mission. Moving forward, it seeks to develop its partnership with National Bookstore through the possible rolling out of mobile libraries covering subjects from environmental conservation and values formation.
