Educating our guests has always been of paramount importance to each and every trail experience. As part of our ongoing dedication to advancing environmental education, we humbly introduce the Young Explorers Program.
Through this program we look at the educational needs of our youth, the hope of our future, who can contribute to a more sustainable Philippines. Please see below for our custom programs for schools and their teachers. We are currently offering programs for high school students and above, and will be offering programs and experiences for K12 students in early 2019.
A custom conservation fee for bigger groups, wherein supervisors or teachers will be sponsored by Project Manager for every ten students, is available for this program.
In this program, students course through select portions of the popular Discovery Trail. In a 1.5 – 2.5 hour experience, students take a leisurely walk through a trail lined with stone steps across a secondary forest, a cave, a limestone peak and bamboo groves to learn about the history of Masungi, our efforts to conserve nature, and our sustainable tourism and development practices.
P1,000 per student
A custom conservation fee is also available for bigger groups, wherein one (1) supervisor or teacher will be sponsored by the Project Manager for every ten students.
Alternatively, schools can also choose to do the full Discovery Trail and experience the iconic trail features such as Sapot and Duyan.
P1,500 per student inclusive of full trail access, park ranger guide, and complimentary light snacks and refreshments after the trail.
The Legacy Trail immerses young people into hands-on restoration work with our forest rangers. The experience involves hiking through a deforested mountain, tree planting or nurturing, minalot meals by the community, and resting on the last pine stands in the area. This trail takes 3-5 hours to complete.
P1,000 per student inclusive of full guided nature walk, educational tree-planting/tree-nurturing activity, and well-deserved minalot meals prepared by the local community.
