MOONLIT SYMPHONIES
Moonlit Symphonies is a listening and musical evening experience set within the landscapes of Masungi—where music and nature are heard together.
The evening begins in full light, with a 20-minute keynote that gently grounds guests in the landscape and its conservation story. It is an invitation to see the land not as backdrop, but as living system—one that holds, sustains, and quietly shapes all that follows.
From here, the first movement unfolds overlooking the city. As the set progresses, daylight begins to soften and the skyline slowly comes to life—a quiet exchange between the mountains and the world beyond. Here, guests are guided through a first movement that reflects on our place in the natural world, where sound travels across distance and the patterns of wind and terrain become more apparent.
Between movements, the evening gathers around a shared table. A light Filipino harvest is served simply and generously—meant to be taken slowly, in conversation, in presence. This is a pause not just for nourishment, but for connection: to those beside you, and to the land that made the meal possible.
As night deepens, the journey continues into a space embraced by the forest’s stillness. In this more intimate setting, listening draws closer — to the layering of life, and the subtle rhythms within the landscape. The second movement turns inward, exploring our relationships with ourselves and each other.
Across both settings, classical and familiar songs are reimagined through a trio of string & wind instruments gently woven into the sounds of the landscape.
The evening closes with reflections from conservationists—returning to the land, and to the shared responsibility of its care. What begins as listening ends, quietly, as a call to remain attentive—to what sustains us, and to what we must, in turn, sustain.
Proceeds support Masungi’s on-going reforestation and conservation advocacies.

Good to Know
- As the experience follows the natural transition from daylight to night, timing may shift by up to ±30 minutes to align with the sunset. Guests must arrive on time and remain flexible as the evening unfolds with the landscape.
- Mobile reception can be intermittent; guests are advised to review directions before the trip.
- Guests must arrive via private or carpooled vehicles, as public transportation in the area is limited and unavailable in the evening, and there is still a 5–10 minute drive from the gate entrance to the event area.
- Roads leading to Silayan are paved but mountainous and winding. Drivers should be confident navigating this terrain.
- Outside food and drinks are not permitted. Dinner and beverages are included in the experience.
- Each musical set features approximately 8–10 instrumental pieces, spanning classical and contemporary works. These selections are arranged to guide guests into the evening’s theme and reflection.
- While designed to be more physically accessible than Masungi’s trail and hiking experiences, this experience does not require hiking but does involve some walking. Guests will still need to navigate over 50 steps, with routes consisting of either gently sloped paths or stairs (whichever is more accessible for the group).
- Moonlit Symphonies may be suitable for seniors who are comfortable with light walking on natural terrain and being outdoors in the early evening. The experience involves moving between two locations, including uneven paths, gradual inclines, and steps. Seating is provided at each stop, and the pace is unhurried, but assistance may be needed for those with mobility concerns.
- For added ease, a limited transfer may be arranged between Silayan and Dasalan for seniors who may require it. Guests may also be picked up by their drivers from the final point of the experience. Any need for these must be shared with the Masungi team three days ahead of time for logistical preparations.
- As with all visits to the reserve, guests and their companions are responsible for assessing their comfort with these conditions and for their own safety throughout the experience. Our team is happy to provide further guidance to help you prepare.
- Meals are presented buffet-style as a communal forest table, curated by our partner chefs. Guests may serve themselves and share the experience with fellow participants. While individual modifications are not available, kindly indicate any dietary restrictions or allergies for the team’s awareness.
- For groups with or composed of foreign guests, kindly note that the spiel is primarily delivered in Filipino. Interpretation guides in English may be requested.
- The evening proceeds rain or shine. Covered areas are available in case of light rain.
- While open to all ages, the experience is designed to be calm and reflective. Guests bringing children are asked to help maintain the gentle atmosphere.
- Proceeds support Masungi’s ongoing forest restoration and protection efforts.
- Private Evenings - For those seeking a more exclusive encounter, Moonlit Symphonies may be arranged as a private evening, tailored for intimate groups or special occasions.
